Temperature tampering temper tantrums — Watts Up With That?

By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley Commenters on my recent threads explaining the gaping error my team has found in official climatology’s definition of “temperature feedback” have asked whether I will update my series pointing out the discrepancy between the overblown predictions in IPCC’s First Assessment Report of 1990 on which the climate scam was based…

Insane $Trillion Cost Means Mega-Batteries Won’t Save Chaotically Delivered Wind & Solar — STOP THESE THINGS

It didn’t take power punters long to work out that wind power will never amount to a meaningful power generation source. Graphs like the one above – depicting the entire output of every wind turbine connected to Australia’s Eastern Grid (1,800 of them with a capacity of just under 5,000MW, spread across four states, NSW, […]

False Consensus: The Onion Spoofs Climate Science — Watts Up With That?

Guest essay by Robert Bradley Jr. The Onion’s recent satire on climate science, “Climate Researchers Warn Only Hope For Humanity Now Lies In Possibility They Making All Of This Up,” presents a paradox worth solving. “Saying the time to act has come and gone,” the piece begins, “a group of researchers from the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel…

Germany’s Renewable Energy Disaster – Part 3: Wind & Solar Deemed ‘Economic Nonsense’

stopthesethings's avatarSTOP THESE THINGS

Germany’s wind and solar experiment has failed: the so-called ‘Energiewende’ (energy transition) has turned into an insanely costly debacle.

German power prices have rocketed; blackouts and load shedding are the norm; and once bucolic farmland has been turned into industrial wastelands (see above).

Hundreds of billions of euros have been squandered on subsidies to wind and solar, all in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions. However, that objective has failed too: CO2 emissions continue to rise.

But you wouldn’t know it from what appears in the mainstream media. Its reticence to report on what’s actually going on in Germany probably stems from the adage about success having many fathers, and failure being an orphan. Having promoted Germany as the example of how we could all ‘transition’ to an all RE future, it’s pretty hard for them to suck it up and acknowledge that they were taken…

How ‘Green’ is Wind Power: Offshore Wind Farms Killing Whales

stopthesethings's avatarSTOP THESE THINGS

One her way to be ‘saved’ by the wind industry…

***

Energy generation systems of all descriptions take their toll, but only one of them claims moral superiority over all others. That increasingly tenuous claim rests on the ‘we’re saving the planet’ mantra – chanted by the wind cult around the Globe.

Not for the first time, and not for the last time, wind turbine noise and vibration has clocked up Cetacean fatalities, messing with whale’s sonar guidance and communication systems: Wind Turbine Noise Terrorising Whales

Here’s how offshore wind farms in Britain are doing their bit for the environment.

Three whales wash up dead on UK coast and two are injured ‘after becoming distressed by offshore windfarm’

The first dead whale – a calf – was spotted on a mudbank before the carcasses of two adults were found later.

Germany’s Renewable Energy Disaster – Part 2: Wind & Solar Deemed ‘Ecological Disasters’

Germany’s wind and solar experiment has failed: the so-called ‘Energiewende’ (energy transition) has turned into an insanely costly debacle.

German power prices have rocketed; blackouts and load shedding are the norm; and its idyllic countryside has been turned into an industrial wasteland, with its forests, no exception (see above).

Hundreds of billions of euros have been squandered on subsidies to wind and solar, all in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions. However, that objective has failed too: CO2 emissions continue to rise.

End of Days: Wind Industry Faces Armageddon in Ontario as New Government Scraps Hundreds of Planned Projects

stopthesethings's avatarSTOP THESE THINGS

Stray dogs disappear when you stop feeding them: wind power outfits evaporate as soon as governments slash the mandates, targets and subsidies that nourish them.

Back in June, the Progressive Conservatives snatched power from an arrogant and out-of-touch Liberal government, that was headed up by the malevolent Kathleen Wynne.

One of their first moves was to cancel hundreds of renewable energy contracts, in an effort to return affordable power to their constituents. Here’s the Press Release that detailed the End of Days for big wind in Ontario.

Ontario to Cancel Energy Contracts to Bring Hydro Bills Down
Keeping election promise will save $790 million to help lower electricity bills

TORONTO – Ontario ratepayers will benefit from $790 million in savings thanks to the Government of Ontario’s decision to cancel and wind down 758 renewable energy contracts, Minister of…

Wind Power’s Mega-Fail: Hot Calm Weather Forces Nuclear Power Reboot in Taiwan & Japan

stopthesethings's avatarSTOP THESE THINGS

Anyone still banging on about CO2 emissions in the electricity generation sector, ought to be banging on about nothing other than nuclear power.

Nuclear power is the only, stand-alone generation source that can deliver reliable, affordable power without generating CO2 gas, in the process.

The fact that politicians in this Country talk about anything but nuclear power as a solution to Australia’s unfolding energy crisis, speaks volumes.

If CO2 gas really is the existential threat it’s made out to be, then nuclear power is the only solution.

In 2018, with debacles like wind ‘powered’ Germany, South Australia and Victoria on show, for all the World to see, anyone still talking about windmills, pumped hydro, mega-batteries and CO2 emissions can’t be taken seriously. And not only their motives, but also their sanity, has to be taken as suspect.

Australia is the only G20 Country to a place to ban on the…
